SAY IT ALL VIA MUSIC!!!
SAY IT ALL VIA MUSIC!!!
April, 2012
According
to the Psychology Press, Music is a complex acoustic and temporal structure
that induces a large variety of emotional responses in listeners.
Music allows couples to express themselves when they do not have words to express their feelings, or if they need to apologize for something they do use music to convey their message .Listening to your favorite music can make a person feel great and can make our moods change. Music can alter you in many ways, depending on the genre of music you are being exposed to.

Music can alter you in many ways, depending on the genre of music you are being exposed to.
According
to "Music and Emotions", Electronic music with amplified
sounds that stresses such musical parts as brass, percussion and heavy bass
notes will physically affect you more easily than any other type of music.
Certain types of music can give you courage and strengthen your willpower,
while other types can relax your nerves and muscles and relieve tension. Music
can give you strength as well for example when players are getting ready to
play the match it brings great strength and courage to the players.
The specific song we are
listening to can affect how we feel. Different types of music may make us cry,
laugh, or even feel anger. Some songs remind us of some events, or
moments of our life which may be very special to us. For some people music acts
as a relaxing pill.
Some listen music in their happy moments
some in sad, some when depressed. It is also a great way to remind your loved
ones that how much he or she means to you, it can bring some sweet memories and
even help to create some new ones.
Additionally, music has the ability to allow couples who have lost the connection to reconnect or to strengthen an
existing connection. It evokes emotion in such a way that the person you’re expressing yourself to truly understands.
In short, music works for us because it
expresses the harmonics of the soul. It helps us when we have no words to
express!!!!! SELF INJURY— an increasing fashion!

Self
injury or self harm is an attempt to cause harm to one's body, people adopt it
as a way to express their feelings and a way to punish themselves.
Ways
of self injury include cutting, burning, taking pills and to some extent nail
biting and lip cutting as well.
Ratio
of self injury is more in youngsters then people of other age groups as in
adolescence people are more keen and enthusiastic about their life and future
and when their dreams and desires are not fulfilled or they don't get others
attention they harm themselves.
Mostly
Self injurers feel relief and some feel alive by doing so. They might be unable
to handle intense feelings, have dislikes about themselves and bodies,
Self
injurers have many reasons for doing such act, Emotional problems like failure
in expressing their feelings, communicating their message, love problems,
sadness, anger, guilt, shame etc.
It
may also be accompanied by depression and a range of psychiatric problems such
as mood disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, borderline personality
disorders etc.
Other
reasons might be failures, loss of loved ones, lake of attention from others,
parents and peer pressure.
Some
people also adopt it as a fashion. It may be the influence of media which is
promoting self injury via drama serials and movies. People follow their star
personalities in this regard and also do it to impress and attract others. In
love affairs some write their lovers names through blades on their arms.
Tattooing is also a kind of self injury but people adopt it as a fashion.
Certain
myths and facts are also there regarding self injury.
Self
injurers can be handled through little effort. Professional treatment from
therapists and counselors can be taken in extreme cases where as the self
injurer also have to take some steps personally in this regard (like trying to
be busy, deep breathing, exercise, trusting parents and friends, staying
connected to the religion). Parents, friends and other people who see the
victims of self injury are also required to pay some attention for the sake of
their loved ones.
I
conclude that Ratio of self injury is increasing day by day youngsters are
seemed harming themselves frequently and especially they are adopting as
fashion and due to the company of bad friends. There are many ways by which we
can save youngsters from harming themselves and coping this situation. For the
elimination of this evil not only the behavior of the injurer has to be checked
but the friends and family of the injurer also have to play an important role
in this regard.
TODAY’S SUPER HERO’S SENDING WRONG MESSAGES TO BOYS
TODAY’S SUPER HERO’S SENDING WRONG
MESSAGES TO BOYS:
April 10, 2012
The author
states in this research that Batman, Iron Man and Spider-Man might be
impressive and powerful at the box office, they aren’t so good for today’s
youth say psychologists. During last week’s Annual Convention of the American
Psychological Association mental health professionals said that, while
yesterday’s heroes fought crime and made better role models, today’s
superheroes are too violent and send the wrong messages and images to young,
impressionable boys.
“There is a big difference in the movie superhero of
today and the comic book superhero of yesterday,” said psychologist Sharon Lamb,
EdD, distinguished professor of mental health at University of Massachusetts-Boston.
“Today’s superhero is too much like an action hero who participates in non-stop
violence; he’s aggressive, sarcastic and rarely speaks to the virtue of doing
good for humanity. When not in superhero costume, these men, like Iron Man,
exploit women, flaunt bling and convey their manhood with high-powered guns. ”
By contrast, Lamb says, superheroes of days gone by
allowed boys to learn from them because they had vulnerabilities when the capes
were off. Lamb came to these conclusions by interviewing nearly 700 boys
between the ages of 4 and 18. She and her team concluded that marketers
convince these boys they can either be players or slackers – in her words, a
“narrow view of masculinity”. One of Lamb’s colleagues says boys are better
adjusted when they resist internalizing macho images. ?
In short, Boys these days are getting wrong messages
from these characters which have been designed just for the sake of
entertainment, they do follow them and show violent behaviors and sometimes they adopt these heroic
attitudes just to impress and attract girls so these messages are affecting
there lives badly.
The Facebook addiction spreads
The
Facebook addiction spreads
April 20, 2012
A new pestilence is
sweeping across the land with unremitting virulence. You may have
thought you were safe
from it. You may have even thought you would be able to control
the disease-that you
were immune from it. No such luck. It has spread to this campus. It
has spread to your
homes and offices. It has even spread to your home computer. The
name of the disease:
The Facebook.
Don't act like you
don't know what I'm talking about. Don't act like you haven't already
spent hours adding
friends and joining random groups, including the group entitled "I'm
addicted to Joining
Random Facebook Groups." If you actually haven't encountered this
epidemic. Whose side
effects may cause grade reduction and sleep deprivation, I will
explain.
Facebook is possibly
the greatest and most entertaining timewaster disguising itself as a
unifying college
community since study groups. Registration is simple; you must simply
have a university
e-mail address to join. You can then create your profile, much like a
typical forum
Internet site, and start viewing profiles along common interests, joining
groups and adding
friends. After that, you can begin to indulge in the witty and highly
intellectual
discourse about cartoons and living in a van down by the river. You can
convince yourself
that you're doing something productive and noteworthy, especially
when you join or form
an organization group, or even meet new people from the many
other colleges hosted
on Facebook. But let's face it. Facebook is entertaining and
addictive, pure and
simple. Most of the groups center around various movies, TV shows
and hobbies. Even
more include what we would call MSU in-jokes, hooking people with
Waffle House, the
wave guy, hatred of online homework and various fan clubs for
random unknown
individuals.
You do get more than
entertainment from Facebook, though. As I was browsing last
night. Presumably
doing research for this article. A certain sense of satisfaction crept up
on me. I was seeing
people online that I had noticed
throughout campus, and even had
classes with a few of
them. I saw how people I knew were connected to other people, and
even other people I
knew. I was starting to get a sample of just how interconnected this university
is.
Not only does
everyone know everyone, I began to realize that people were actually
talking and finding
common interests outside of their own group of friends. How often
does that really
happen walking across campus? We see people every day, and we talk to
people on the cell
phone between classes, but where can we find the free discourse of
Facebook anywhere
else outside of organizations?
Facebook is a place
for unlimited communication-where anyone can talk to anyone
without barrier. And
we can do it all on our own time, without leaving our own territory
or comfort zone. And
where can you find a place that you only talk about one common
interest. People do
not have a sign on their foreheads listing that they're interested in '80s
movies and
skeeball. Neither can you simply ask,
"Hey, I was looking for someone who
likes Bob Marley and,
hey, you look like just the type..." Yeah. That would work. That's
where The facebook
comes in. Not only can you join the Bob Marley group, you can also
click the link to Bob
Marley in your interests. The site will perform an instant search
through profiles to
find all the people who groove to Marley.
And I've only been
talking about people from MSU. On this site, we can have the same
type of discourse with
college students all over America. Our relatively small community
of MSU can expand to
encompass like-minded "scholars" from far and wide. We can
discuss sushi with a
guy from Maine. Isn't that fun? As with any form of entertainment, especially
on the Internet, we must use moderation
and not have to join
the group "Facebook Made Me Fail My Exams!!" We must
remember that with
great power, or a great forum site, comes great responsibility. Your
Bush group can wait
until after physics homework. Just keep
repeating that to yourself, and you may believe it.JEALOUSY AND RELATIONSHIPS
JEALOUSY AND RELATIONSHIPS
April 22, 2012
This little quote explains the term jealousy very
beautifully. Jealousy s a very strong and passionate emotion. As this quote
indicates that sometimes it is good for you but sometimes it do not works in
favor of you. A person experiencing jealousy sometimes remains behind. The most beautiful kind of jealousy is the
jealousy you feel in a love relationship. In a love relationship slight jealous
feelings may even be endearing and show our partner that we are concerned
and we care about him. It is important
to show trust at this stage, but the dark side of jealousy can be an ugly
thing, bringing out the worst in people. Insecurity is magnified by jealousy,
and lovers often feel inadequate and not good enough for their partner. If
jealousy is the other partner it may be dangerous for the beautiful
relationships. Jealousy can come in the form of needing to know where your
partner is at all times, or wondering what he is doing on his phone his
computer, who he is meeting with. But the point is to remain calm and positive,
if this is done to much the other partner may get irritated and problems and
fights may occur. Jealousy should be
positive in a sense that you do not mistrust your partner.
My favorite saying which describes jealousy in a
relationship is “I am jealous of the people you hug because for a moment they
held my whole world!!! This indicates that in a love relationship we feel
jealous just due to our innocent feelings of love, just due to a little fear of
losing our partner. Although experts haven't reached a general consensus
whether jealousy has a purpose in a loving relationship, the only certain thing
is that its presence would always prove problematic if left uncontrolled and
dominant. Finally I would like to say that is a hard question that a jealousy
is good for relationships or bad but for me it depends on to what extent. If
you are too jealous she/he may leave you but if you have too little then I
suppose it is normal. We just have to trust our loved ones and we should give
them a little space so that they remain loyal to us.
